Ridgedale Players

For any child wishing to be a part of our JAR program, the child's parent or guardian must become a member of Ridgedale Players. Before your child can be involved in any JAR production, parents must help out on at least TWO (2) adult shows. Parents can help out by working on our house committee, hospitality, backstage or even some of our non-theater activities (auctions, bowl-a-thon, clean-up days, etc).

After this commitment has been fulfilled, parents will be asked to "help out" with activities associated with each show his/her child is involved in. This may be as simple as helping in the kitchen, cleaning, ticket committee, passing out programs, set design or construction, costumes, etc.

Parents are not required to have any training in theater, formal or otherwise. If a parent wishes to pursue onstage activities, Ridgedale is just for you! Ridgedale has something for the entire family.

JAR has three scheduled opportunities to perform - Breakfast/lunch with Santa, Breakfast/lunch with the Easter Bunny and our large Spring production. Each child who auditions for the first two shows are always guaranteed a part.

These shows are geared toward a younger audience, and every child has the opportunity to have at least one line. Children are taught songs, some dances, movement exercises and how to work with others.

This is a great learning experience no matter the age. Everyone involved has something to do on stage. These shows are shorter and have lots of songs, and provide a good opportunity to learn the performing arts at a young age.

Auditions for Charlotte's Web
Auditions for the highly-acclaimed children's classic, Charlotte's Web, will be conducted April 12. Performance dates are June 7-8, 2008. For more information, contact Peggy Miller-Zelinko.
